Hello World! Stone is making her debut on this blog. :-D Which Sadoodoo has introduced me to of course.
Why do we procrastinate? I just happen to be an expert on this topic, so I actually have a pretty profound answer for you. I'm gonna have to make sure its just right though, and I don't have time to do that right now, so let me get back to you later.
i believe we procrastinate for many reasons: 1: we don't enjoy the task (ie: cleaning the toilet is as exciting as a visit to the dentist, i'll just put it off until later) 2: we don't expect to complete the task (ie: if i do the laundry, I probably won't have time to put it all away today, so might as well not to the laundry today) 3: we don't have specified deadlines or routines (ie: the chicken will still be waiting in the fridge so i'll finish watching this movie now and think of what to make for dinner when the time is closer) 4: The goal is set for the distant future (ie: I still have 3 weeks until that report is due, i'll just work on it later) 5: Lack of committment or we think it's somebody else's job (ie: my husband will take out the trash...) 6: Fear of failure (ie: Since I didn't lose any weight the last time i tried, i won't this time either...FUGGEDABOUTIT) 7: Lack of priority (ie: I better go grocery shopping so we'll have something to eat; the cabinet that has needed to be cleaned forever can wait a little longer) 8: You don't know how to do the task at hand (ie: the vaccum cleaner is not sucking properly, but I don't know how to clean it, so I'll just ignore it for now) 9: You just plain don't wanna
